DIY Hair Mask for Dry Naturally Curly Hair
This homemade hair mask has only 2 ingredients!
Being born with naturally curly hair can be a blessing and a curse at the same time. Sure, curled hair looks sexy and beautiful but it also tends to be very dry and needs a lot of extra care. I find that leaving in conditioner after I wash my hair makes a big difference and so do the weekly hair masks.
I have purchased a lot of commercial hair masks over the years but I found that a good homemade hair mask works much better on my naturally curly hair. Below is one if the easy DIY hair masks from my arsenal for curled hair.
I like to use leftover coconut milk for this simple 2-ingredient DIY hair mask:
1/2 cup of Coconut Milk
1 teaspoon of Vitamin E Oil (eyeball it)
Whisk Vitamin E Oil into Coconut Milk and apply to your hair for 1 hour. I mix it in a small bowl and then slowly pour into my hair over the sink while distributing the liquid with the other hand. You want as much coconut milk as possible to stay in your hair 🙂 After application, I put a plastic shower cap on and cover it with an old beanie hat to keep my hair warm. Put a towel around your neck to catch any coconut milk that drips down. This DIY hair mask is not greasy and easy to wash off with just a little bit of gentle shampoo. I follow this mask with my usual routine of applying conditioner to damp hair and leaving it in.
Coconut Milk helps to make your hair soft and shiny and nourishes your scalp too thus promoting faster hair growth! Extra Vitamin E Oil boosts nourishing and moisturizing properties of this hair mask.
Do this regularly! Remember that no treatment will instantly revive abused hair. You have to take care of your hair regularly and do your best to minimize damage.
I also started an experiment with using castor oil and Vitamin E to grow my eyelashes and eyebrows. Sign up for email updates to find out how it went!
